Old School Skylines to End the Week.

Just a couple pics from HellaFlush.  These cars are freakin' hot.  Peep them out here.

Rauh Welt Begriff

So I've been starring at pics of the Rauh Welt Begriff Porches for what seems like forever.  I found these cars on Speedhunters0-60 Mag and Auto Otaku.  I just can't get over how bad ass these automobiles are.  Since I've gotten rid of my S13 240SX I've been itching to pick up another project car.  Obviously with my motorcycle its slowed a bit, but I'm thinking a few years down the road I'm going to pick up another project car.  This time for mostly track duty so I can forgo the compromising between being a daily driver and weekend track car.  Before I blab too much here's a pic to keep your attention.

From Auto-Otaku:

I have no idea where this pic came from, if its your let me know and I'll reference you:

From SpeedHunters:

Rauh Welt 993

From the video on 0-60 Magazine, these things sound amazing not to mention everyone who's heard them first hand.  From ITB's and custom Ti exhausts to crazy rim configurations and bodywork the shop owner, Nakai-san knows how to do the damn thing.  Tuning mostly 930's, 964's and 993's, Nakai-san sure knows how to build a head turner.

I want.

Project Shadow Update

Got some time last weekend and installed the Biltwell Inc. Tracker bars--upside down.  I ordered the non-dimpled ones since the dimpled ones probably wouldn't fit the controls from the Shadow anyhow.  Since I haven't swapped bars on a motorcycle before, I didn't know what to expect.  I ended up drilling a couple holes, one on each side to mount the OEM blinker/horn and starter controls.  I mated the bar with some retro Harley grips from Drag Specialties I got from Lifestyle Cycles in Fullerton, CA.  A note about the grips if you're interested in using them.  The throttle side won't fit without you mangling them up and ripping the hard plastic out of them.  Once you do that you'll have to use something to thicken the throttle side for the grip to slide in tightly.  I used duct tape, the fix-all.  The chrome ring will probably fall off too, so have some Super Glue handy.  Oh and don't forget the grip glue when you put the grips on.

This thing definitely changed the attitude of the bike.  Here's a side by side comparison from the front, before on the left, after on the right:

And of course a side view comparison as well, top is before, bottom is after:

Riding position is MUCH more involving.  The stock bars were great if you just wanted to sit there and numbly ride around.  With these bars you're leaned over almost in a sport bike-like position.  I've ridden this thing for 1.5 hours straight and my neck and back didn't start cramping like I thought it would.  So there you have it, she's coming along slowly but surely.  Just the way I like it.

R1 Tracker from Greggs Customs...

via Roland Sands Blog. Don't know who they are since I'm a newb to bikes, but holy fuck this dudes nuts riding it like that.

And you socal'ers should recognize the roads.

Now I know what a RUB is.

Though.. I dunno if you can qualify this guy as one.  The turtleneck just finishes off that leather outfit.  Finishes off that biker gang look ya know?  The guy taking this video is taking shots on this guy and he doesn't even know it.

Shinya Kimura of Chabott Engineering

My buddy turned me on to this video last week and forgot to post it up.  All I gotta say is its an amazing video. Full screen and crank up the volume.  He apparently worked for owned Zero Engineering for a while but went on to open his own shop called Chabott Engineering.  Here's a link to his blog too.

Damn, who woulda thought a dirty ass bike could be so fucking sweet.

Inspiration.

This Triumph Bonneville chopper/bobber/cafe racer or whatever the hell it is totally badass.  Maybe my next bike will be a cafe Bonnie.. The build can be found HERE.

Absolutely Stunning.

Never really knew what kind of car this was until I stumbled upon it on the internet.  Porsche 356 Coupe (or Coup-ay as Jeremey Clarkson would say). But this thing is just beautiful.  I'll let the picture do the talking.

Still I Stand.

Just what I"m bumpin in the ride these days.

Biltwell Inc. Tracker Handlebar Mustaches

JK.  Haha.. Low and behold the UPS person brought me a gift today... all the way from Temecula, CA.  Biltwell Inc. Tracker Bars.  Gotta support a local shop right?  I love the IE.. spent many a years there.  Actually, I don't even know if Temecula is part of the Inland Empire.  Well, whatever.  Here's a couple pics of the unboxing.

Everything was boxed up real nice.  The bar even came with a protective sleeve made of sock material..unused I hope!  Anyhow, the bar is nice and black with no scratches.  They even threw in some a shit ton of stickers!

Another pic for good measure.

Hopefully I'll be able to install these soon.  School is almost out and I plan on taking a week off work to un-learn everything I learned in college!  Until then, keep the wind to your backs amigos.
